Under the
sponsorship of the Royal Norwegian
Ministry of Education and Research
The ICDE and
the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research are proud to invite you
to attend at the ICDE Prize of Excellence Lectures to be delivered on 3 December, in Oslo, Norway. The
ICDE Prize Lectures will take place in conjunction with the annual conference
organised by the Norwegian Association for
Distance Education, on 3 - 4 December 2001.
The ICDE

distance and virtual learning. The
winners of the 2001 ICDE Prize of Excellence received their Prizes during the
course of the 20th ICDE World Conference in Dü Ü0Ü Ü $0sseldorf, Germany.
However, since the ICDE is headquartered in Oslo, the ICDE Prize of Excellence
follows a tradition set by the Nobel Peace Prize in terms of the winners being
invited to deliver their Prize Lecture in the Norwegian capital, just a few days
prior to the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony, which is awarded in this city on 10
December every year.
The Prize of
Excellence Lectures will be delivered by:
· ÜÜ Ü $
Torstein

enchanting mountain hotel blends into a landscape of unparalleled scenic beauty.
It's also the site of an annual Norwegian rite, the world ski-jump
championships. Summer and winter there is outdoor activity and, moving indoors,
the stone fireplaces, antique woodwork, gourmet restaurants, and cozy rooms are
able to satisfy the most diverse of travellers.

December in Oslo also means a unique opportunity to experience real white winter “Wonderland” with ski opportunities just outside your door, as well as the traditional Christmas markets in the streets, with delicious Norwegian food specialities, handcrafts and music (more information about Oslo here).
